Ten Commandments (Surah 6 vv151-153)

O Muhammad, say: "Come, I will recite what your Rabb has forbidden to you:

  1. not to commit shirk with Him,

  2. to be kind to your parents,

  3. not to kill your children making the excuse of inability to support them – We provide sustenance for you and for them –

  4. not to commit shameful deeds whether open or secret,

  5. not to kill any soul forbidden by Allah except for the requirements of justice.

These are the things which He enjoined you so that you may learn wisdom.

Furthermore,

  1. not to go near the property of an orphan except in the best way (to improve it). Until he attains maturity,

  2. give full measure and just weight – We never charge a soul with more than it can bear.

  3. Whenever you speak, be just, even if it affects your own relatives,

  4. and fulfill your covenant with Allah.

These are the things which He has enjoined on you so that you may be mindful.

  1. He has also said: Verily this is My way, the Right Way; therefore follow it and do not follow other ways, for they will lead you away from Him. This is what He enjoined on you so that you may guard yourselves against evil.

Al-Quran, Surah 6, Verses 151-153

By the time through the ages!
Surely mankind is in loss,
Except those who believe and do good deeds;
Exhort one another to the truth
And exhort one another to patience.
Surah 103
